Setup Guide

1. Introduction

Scorched Ice sensors are wearable performance trackers built specifically for hockey. Designed to capture real-time skating metrics, such as speed, acceleration, edgework, and distance, they provide actionable data to improve on-ice performance. Data is uploaded to the Scorched Ice cloud for analysis.

2. What's in the Box

  • 2x Scorched Ice Skate Sensors
  • 1x Magnetic USB Charging Cable
  • 1x Instruction Card with QR code
  • Access to the Scorched Ice App (iOS only)

3. Charging the Sensors

How to Charge:

  1. Plug the USB end of the cable into a power source.
  2. Align the magnetic end with the metal circle on top of each sensor. (Note: If you feel resistance, flip the charger 180 degrees.)
  3. The sensor will blink green and yellow to confirm charging.

Charging time: Approximately 30 minutes
Troubleshooting tip: If no light appears after 5 minutes, unplug and reattach the charger carefully to align the magnets.

4. Placing the Sensors

Attach the small hooks to the laces of your skates so that the sensor sits flat beneath the boot, with the blue button and the light facing down towards the ice.

Orientation:

  1. The letters (L or R) face forward.
  2. The 5-digit sensor number faces backward.
  3. The button and light face downward toward the ice.

Do: Dry the sensors after use. Charge them after every session.

Don’t: Store them wet. Leave them attached to skates in your bag.
